my sister brought a ebII 4.0l it was ment to be running turns out when she got there the battery was flat, the keys in the ignition the guy tried to jump start it when he put on the jumper cables the doors locked with the keys in the ignition, after thay smashed the window to get in the car wouldnt start, i had a look over it and there is no spark and no injector pulse the fuel pump is working and the engine is cranking over, i have changed the dissy, ecu relay, ecu, and looked over the wiring for problems nothing its dead, now i have read a heap of threads on here people saying that if its a smart lock problem the the engine wont crank and the fuel pump wont pump and there will be no spark or injector pulse and other say it will crank ect so what the hell will and wont it do if the smartlock is the problem and does the BEM have anything to do with a EBII not firing ? any ideas could it be that the he arked the battery causing the codes bettween the ignition barrel and the smartlock module to stuff up ?

sounds like it could be the smartlock playing up.
On the bottom left of the cluster is a smartlock light, is that on / off / flashing?

there is no radio fitted and the interior lights are working, but the dimmer switch does nothing, could it be the BEM could have shorted when the guy has cut the radio wires ?
also i tried programing the key fob by turning the key to acc hitting the boot release 3 times but the door locks didnt even cycle so i fitted the smartlock module in my eb and i could program the fob, and wouldnt crank so i guess the smartlock unit is fine. would a stuffed BEM stop it spark and injector pulse ?

yeah if the ecu isnt getting the correct signal it will not give spark or fuel.
I have override modules which connect to the ecu and send the correct signals to overcome the smartlock issue if your interested, it would probably be an easier solution than trying to find / fix a heap of cut wires on the BEM

its only the radio plug that has been cut off not the BEM and i would rather fix the problem and have the key fobs working and stuff. why is it that i can unplug the BEM in another EBII and it doesnt effect the starting at all does the EBII BEM have any think to do with ecu ?
