I was looking at my 3 ECU's i have here, EB GT Manual is 2DCA, which is fine, but here is where i get confused. I have my original LTD 5.0 Auto ecu which is 3DFA, and i have an EB 5.0 Manual ecu which is 1DFA. Wouldn't they be either both manual or both auto having the same code? How can one of them be an auto version and the other a manual and they have the same letters?

ok! one more stoopid question, i have a NF 5lt (auto of course) could i run a 6DHC NL XR8 ecu? and would there be any improvements? my mate has the 4DKF EF XR8 chaser ecu and it was fun in the Fairlane, so i was wondering about the EL XR8 one.

Hi there... I have a 4DCD from a Fairmont in my "Futura" wagon and I think they changed a couple of shift points for the auto gearbox control to suit the long wheel base, slightly heavier, 3.23 diff ratio. Like the guy says on his auction, it should run in a sedan just fine.
Why do you want a new ECU anyway? |

Yesterday I came across 6THC (I'm pretty sure that was it... memory not so flash.) It was in a series 2 EL XR8, manual. I was expecting to see 6DFD. Has anyone seen one of these before? I'm thinking it may be a replacement, as there's a Haltech running the car and this eec is just used to control the other s**t. I want to get rid of the Haltech and have the car running off the EEC, but have no idea what this EEC is out of.
