I work at a ford dealership and managed to get the part number for catch code 12UC. I can verify that it is out of an AU series 2/3 XR6 non VCT manual.

12UD is the same just a later revision

Full Part numbers are:

12UC - 12RC-12A650-UC
12UD - 12RC-12A650-UD

Hope this helps

Brad

Thanks Brad .... best get off me a*** & fit it in lol

94DA-12A650-CE - THIS IS THE PART NUMBER ON MY EF AUTO FAIRMONT [OPTION 10] POLICE CAR.
I have added it to one of the lists.

it should be option 20 for police..

Yeah probably right ,couldn't remember if 10 or 20 picked it up from wreckers in Moe with cluster for $50 the lot.

I have this ECU as well and the by cluster, is that the chip that slots in under the ECU? As I have one of those to. Also can you tell me what diff ratio I should have as my speedo is off by about 7km when doing a 100km it's really doing 107 to 110kms...

General rule of thumb for the Catch Codes are:
First digit is the year of design: 7 = EA, 0 = EB1, 1 = EB2, 2 = EB2, 3 = EB2, 4 = EF, 5 = EF, 6 = EL
Second digit is Ford/Tickford: D = Standard Ford, T = Tickford
Third digit is the model: A = 6cyl manual, B = 6 cyl auto, D = Fairmont or Fairlane, E = Gas of some sorts, J = EL Fairmont Ghia, L = South African Export, N = Police
Fouth digit is the ECU revision.

They are both el/xh xr6 ecu s. Just the 6taa is a manual ecu and the 6tba is a auto one.
So if your is manual keep the manual ecu

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out where this ecu is from. All the information that I know is that it's a Au Ute Manual. Unsure of series...( Ute was converted from auto so my fans are just over working thinking it's overheating, seeing if a manual ecu would help)

Catch code: WARB
Part number: WR2A-12A650-RB

your fans are on because the auto ecu is logging a trans temp failure as there is no auto trans for it to monitor the trans temp, the fans are on as a fail safe..so yes a manual ecu would fix the issue with the fans.

WARB is from a series 1.5 auto ute iirc. Does your ute have the smartsheild hand on the dash but the early e series keyfob?
