Hey Guys,
I recently built a new 4.0ltr for my xg ute and have run into some problems. The engine is out of an EB, with moderate cam, ported head and high comp pistons and is freshly reconditioned. Dropped the motor in and after a lot of screwing around trying to slot the dizzy in at TDC she was ready to fire. It cranked over after a bit of a twist in the dizzy and was running pretty close to spot on with the timing light. Let the car idle for about 10 mins and all was working sweet so decided to drive it. After about 10 mins driving i was happy with the work so i shut it off and went to bed. Wouldn't start next day so played with the dizzy again and got it working again got it spot on with timing light. Went to drive it earlier this arvo and wouldnt fire up I've heard you need to let the ecu learn the timing but am not really sure how to do this Has anyone else had any issues like this before, or have i just stuffed up somewhere along the line??? Cheers |

Do a search as ive heard theres a plug by brake booster that you have to earth before setting timing on ea onwards anyways

All good, all sorted now, had to jump two pins and put it in self test mode and adjust the timing then
