Hi i have a standard EF falcon.

i wanted more power and was talking to a mechanic not long ago he told me that i could put a pod filter and extractors and then by just reprograming the standard computer i could get quite a lot more power.

does anyone know how to reprogram the computer or would it be better to just buy an aftermarket computer. i wasnt looking to spend thousands or turn it into a drag car but just to give it a little more push

any help would be good cheers Hosko's

there are a couple of options here....

you can get your current ECU chipped

you can replace it with a same model, higher series ECU

you can attempt to develop a program running via a laptop to control ECU commands....

Normally I dont see people doing any of the above unless they already have aftermarket exhaust/cam/extractors, normally because these are completely compatiable with the standard ECU
For example uglybob uses a higher series ECU to allow the engine to cope with his engine mods.

The best bet is to do a search and see what people that have one of the above options best recommend.

Do a search of the forums, this is the most talked about topic.
