Kids,
Given definitions, binaries, programmers and chips are now freely available to support the custom tuning of our EF-EL Falcons (see other thread), I thought id put together a guide as to how I went about tuning my car. The doc is here: http://www.techcore.com.au/eec/Technica ... 20v0.2.pdf This is a first draft only, and im open to questions or requests in this thread as to what people would like to know. Edit: Doc updated, find more tech docs here: http://www.techcore.com.au/eec/documents.html Cheers, Jason

Great read Jase, Don't suppose you would be willing to give me a hand to tune mine by any chance??? (I don't have a laptop to do the logging) Although I would be able to organize a dyno easy enough.I also need a chip etc. The engine is fairly worked (around 150 rwkw)with 10.5-1 comp, head work, wade 1673, headers+ 2 1/2" exhaust, 3"with pod in box intake, Cheers ,Tim

Do you have a previous dyno chart? If so, post it up...

Oh yeah, sorry.
I have read it a couple of times, but i will be reading it a few more time to fully understand it, as it takes me a few times to start to remember s**t. It is a good guide of what i, and many others need and want to know. I can't wait to start playing with this stuff.

Use imageshack (imageshack.us) if you want to keep sizes down...
Your bottom-midrange AFRs are a bit rich, but not too bad -- ive seen worse. Up high its about where you would want them to stay safe. I wouldnt think there's much peak power in it (mainly just more spark) but there would be some fuel economy and drivability gains in the midrange area. Jason

I had a read Jason and it is pretty good. Certainly makes it look easier with the pictures and stuff. The map stuff looks fairly easy. Do you know if Jaysen is going to do something similar for us V8 owners?
Oh yes and I noticed your mate has bumped up the price for the ebay programmer and J3 chip. Is he(or you) offering a 'special' price for us formodders? |

The prices have been at this level for a while now. As mentioned in the other thread the dollar makes purchasing parts quite expensive.
There is no "special" to be had - as you can probably work out, if the dollar had such an impact, the prices are already at rock bottom. I expect they will get higher in the new year. If you compare the prices of this gear to ChipTorque or SCT I am sure you will see a difference in orders of magnitude! Jaysen has said he will work on a MAF doc but in the meantime there is already plenty of MAF tuning guides on the web - try google. To answer your other question, as the sites both say its all 64kb bins for now. Jason

Thanks Jason. I'll start googling and I agree with the price and what is possible for so little 100%. Cheers

Jason running rich throughout...... if you could get it hovering around 12.8 theres gains to be had |

the high RPMs are pretty much OK (safe), but as with all cammed I6s, the midrange is way out.
extremely easy to dial in with a chip. Jason
