Hi
I have had a head reco'd on my 4lt EF motor the new head is hybrid, Car runs rough and lacks power and will not kick down. What might the problem be....I may still have engine management system from previous motor which was EL exchanged for EF several years ago, is there a difference, what can I do....... |

I would be checking that everything was put back correctly. The only change with the hybrid head was that it had the AU valve train gear.
Is the car an EF or an EL? |

If you are talking ECU then EF and EL are not interchangable at all. For starters the pin count on the connector is different. The EL has a dissy and EF a coil Pack. To do this requires at least one loom swapout and mods to others. Back to you current issue: When the head swap was done was the cam and rocker gear retained as a pair, the lift of a hybrid cam requires the matching rocker ratio?

im thinking if the car is running rough and the gearbox wont kick down, look at your tps on the throttle body, maybe it hasnt been re connected or had been damaged or it simply died...

I'd personally be checking the cam timing.
