Hi All,
New to this forum so be gentle with me........ My 96 EF falcon is driving me mad. It is missing on no.2 cylinder only. Its idling rough and missing right through the rev range - although less obvious as you get to higher revs. Take lead off no. 2 cylinder and there is no difference in engine idling / performance, and it will not spark against the head - the other ones spark well. Have completed the following; Replaced plugs and leads, cam and crank sensors. Checked resistances accross primary and secondary terminals on coil pack and all as per manual so nothing obvious there. Help......... |

well look my mate which is a mechanic and works on early model fords mainly told me to check all electricals first then check if i've got a head gasket problem.so check if you've got a head gasket problem and take it from there.and even check if you've got any water around the coil pack or coil or even in any of the leads.
cheers daniel

Thanks Daniel-turns out it was the coil, despite the resistances on primary and secondary windings being as per manual, put a new one in and its running like a dream!
