Does anyone know what the difference is between the fault codes in a 97 el and an ef 4L?
I have the full set of codes for the EF but now Ive got an EL, there must be some difference as some of the EF codes relate to the coil pack? Mine is flashing 111 hard code & memory of 578 - according to the EF code this is normal & a memory fault in the gearbox. Would this be the same for the EL? |

im pretty sure they are much the same??
in el...578 = Battery Voltage too low The Internal reference voltage is too low for proper transmission operation. Can be caused by a low system voltage or internal EEC fault ... |

Thanks TROYMAN that makes sense cause my battery started going flat a little while back, ive got the ef codes from a gregorys manual and it says that with faults from 578 to 697 its the gearbox take it to a dealer and thats it. unfortunately i didnt get a code to tell me why it wont idle ie stalls intermittently i thought bad fuel, bad it died on lpg too. now it goes fine on petrol most of the time then suddenly wont hold idle and wont run on lpg at all.got it booked with gas installer for monday maybe he can figure it. might dump and replace fuel tommorow as well
