Any ideas on this high idle problem ?
I have a stock EL Futura auto I6 thats done 360,000Km (was mums taxi)
At start up in park it starts easily but revs up to 2000 on the tacho then drops down to 1100. Idles at 1100 in both park and neutral. With foot on the brake in Drive it drops back to 650rpm. Also using heaps of fuel.
I've checked timing, replaced plugs, leads & distributor cap.
Replaced Oxygen sensor
Cleaned the throttle body & ISC & checked vacuum hoses, aircleaner element, PCV & inlet manifold for leaks.
I've checked the base idle and in diagnostic mode it idles normally at about 700 rpm.

have you changed the o2 sensor lately. i changed mine and it ran better and used less fuel after

thanks Pugsley that's number 1 on my short list so you have confirmed I'm on the right track
My O2 sensor has never been changed from new so I'm sure either way it will be worth while to change it
