Hey guys i recently picked up a Ford Falcon GLI EL to fix up as my first car.

But i am having issues with the imobiliser and ignition barrel.
The doors unlock fine using the keypad/remote but when i put the key in the ignition barrel it feels as if there is nothing happening as when i rotate the key it doest click around as it should and in the Ignition position it does nothing..
The Smart Lock light flashes 1/1/1 so to me that means the the imobiliser is not disarming.

The cental interior light works the headlights all work.
Im stumped.

Any advice on how to fix this or what i should do would be absolutely fantastic and greatly appreciated.

Note: Computer technician trying to explain whats wrong with a car here so please feel free to correct me on my terms haha..

Another note: Would any one know if the standard altinator and battery would handle 2X1.2KW amplifiers?

Thanks again for any advice or help..

open the windows.

Turn the ignition to the second click.

If the smartlock light is flashing say 2x/sec it is imobilised.

Leave the key in the position for 1hr.

After 1hr, the door locks should cycle (lock/unlock) and the Smartlight jewel should be Steady.

Proceed to Crank (ie: turn to the right) start the car and warm it up to recharge to battery a bit.

Turn it off and check again.

Try this as well;
Turn the key to the 'Start' position and hold it there.
With the palm of your hand give the dash a firm whack on the light gray area below the central locking button (Just above your left knee)
If she comes to life, your BEM (Body Electrics Module) is playing funny buggers.
