if it's not EB1 (pre-smartlock) it should be fine mate.

Gidday I did this for a couple of days prior to my engine install. What I found that while the engine started and ran, it didn't feel quite right. I wasn't quite as strong in the bottom end, and pulled hard up the top, but wasn't as smooth as the standard ECU. This is due to the fact that the later ECU has Fuel and Ignition maps to suit the BBM manifold, as well as expecting some input from a knock sensor. I suggest you try it for yourself and see if you are happy with the way it performs, not only in outright go, but in general as well. Cheers BenJ

Also, if it is non smartlock then you have two choices.
A) Fit all the smartlock stuff. B) Wire in a smartlock bypass module. |

if it came with the fuel rail xr6 had a different fuel pressure reg

the ecu will not make much difference if any at all, to get the full "effect" you will need, diff, head, cam, fuel pressure reg. these were the key differences between stick and xr6 on the mechanical side of things.

Cheers BenJ You need to give it an extra 8-10 degrees base timing |
