Hi just quick question
Do I need to run a igniter with el 4.0 dizzy when it is not piggybacked through standard computer?

Have tried all day to get spark and it will not.

Have searched a bit and someone said it is possible but cannot find a diagram.

Any help would be great

nope,no igniter necessary you can use the factory tfi module on the dizzy..

when you hook it up, the pip signal from the tfi to ecu ( wire on pin 56 factory plug) goes to the no1 ignition input on ems, then the no 1 ignition output from ems goes to the spout wire (pin 36 on factory ecu plug}..

I'm not actually using the factory wiring/computer at all.

Just trying to figure out if I can wire the ems to the dizzy and coil directly.

The 4l has come out of my mustang and gone into a e32 735i BMW and do not want to transplant the falcon wiring and computers over.

ok, well the factory ford tfi still needs 12v and a earth/ signal ground to work, then you can use it to ignite the coil.
otherwise you might be better off using a ems igniter and get the pip signal from the dizzy..

Yeah I tried today wiring it a few different ways to get spark but no matter what I did it didn't work.

I had 12v, ground and I think the trigger sync hooked to pip on dizzy
