Im building an au falcon street stocker. I have to use a smartsheild ecu and and the log type pre bbm manifold. Ive been searching and the only info i can find is people saying to go for smartlock, i can't, it's against the rules. I have to use a pre smartlock ecu. Is there any particular ea or eb ecu that stands out from the rest?

Smartshield is post Smartlock. EB/ED/EF/EL and early AU were smartlock.

Re-read your rules.......

ECU evolution went like this. No security up to 10/1992. Smartlock from 10/1992 until 4/1999. Smartsheild 4/1999 onwards.

Log manifolds were up to 10/1994, BBM manifolds from 9/1994

So a pre-smartlock ecu = no security, NOT smartsheild

I assume you are running a manual. Try a 92DT 12A650 AA if you can find one. Otherwise 91DA 12A650 Ax, where x = A or B or C or D

Pre smartlock isnt smartsheild. Smartsheild is the "upgraded" version of smartlock.

Reading your other threads, probably the best for you wiring wise is an EBII pre smartlock auto ECU (4/92 - 10/92). I take it you can't use a Tickford ECU ?

So your looking at a Pre 6/92 ECU.

If your allowed to, the tickford ECU's may be your best option as they cope better with any changes out of the box. There should actually be a Tickford 4.0 I6 ECU from an EB Series II, from that first month before Smartlock got implimented.

I had an EBII Fairmont, and it lacked smartlock. The window was only a few months before smartlock went in.

Can anyone tell me the part number for an eb2 auto tickford ecu? According to this thread ecu-fuel-system-eec-f21/ecu-catch-codes-t30186.html it would be something like 1tbx but there's no mention of an eb2 tickford ecu?
Does it have to be xr6 or do the ghias run the tickford ecu?

If you use the EB pre-smartlock ECU on the AU, you will need to fit a dizzy as well as a coil, this will require a rewire of the engine bay using the EB loom.

The EB ECU will not plug into the AU Loom. Different number of pins.

Changing the ECU on the AU will also mean that the dash won't work as well as the ECU's are different and signals for the dash come from the ECU.

It's a speedway car, it won't have a dash. Yes as per the rules it has to be oem distributer.
To run efi in the rsa street stockers i have to use ea eb ecu. No tickford heads or hp blocks. Has to be pre bbm log type efi manifold.
