im fitting a kill switch to cut my starter motor. Just something a little extra.
Is a switch rated at 10amps at 14vdc sufficient? Does anyone know the power level going through those wires?

I would personally fit a kill switch to the fuel pump or the fuel injectors, as they are harder to bypass,
Let me know what model car you have and I can give the the pin numbers on the ECU to use Scotty

it would be a spike of 40 amps with a contious draw if 15ish so no the easy way would be to remove the start relay for that extra bit if thats what your looking for

oh my car is a ba model.
Im just going to do the starter. What is the minimum rated switch to do the job. Went to jaycar and grabbed a 10amp 14vdc switch?? Will it be sufficient. Dont want to be parked somewhere with a buggered switch, or worse have the wife stranded.

Hmmmm what about a 40amp amplifier fust that shoud be big enough right? and easy to get spares, and can use a sagnificant gauge wire.....

a 10 amp switch will be fine , as long as its on the trigger side of the starter relay,
if your putting it on the load side(direct wire to starter) you need atleast a 40-60 amp switch... |

Pin 80 Controls the fuel pump, so if you go into that you can cut the power to the pump, and It wont go anywhere

The EL Fuel pump pin is 22 on the ECU
Both of these pins are not a large load so even a micro switch will work, Its battery voltage Scotty
