I work at REPCO and I was chattin to the owner of one of the local go fast shops at work today.
He tells me that he can sell me a flash tuner and dyno time for $600 and he guarantees me that I will get at least 55 klws gain on my xr8..............

does anyone think that this sounds realistic???????

obviously I know nothing about flash tuners

bahahahahahahahaha hopes. a run on the dyno costs like 50bux, but the tuning is the expensive part. i think he just wants some moulah.

they include the tuning free with flash tuners.

Im not asking if the price is realistic :) You get mates rates on everything when you work at REPCO :)

I wanna know is the 55 klw gain realistic?????

what exactly is this "flash tuner" ? Is it new or used?

i seriously doubt this bloke will spend hours custom tuning your car for free, plus sell you an aftermarket ecu for half price

sounds like a bit of a con lol

No. Not a hope in hell of getting 55kw, either at the engine or wheels with a 'tune'.

i think he forgot a decimal place.. 5.5 would be very realistic..

you might gain 5-10 ish at the wheels. will run better, smooth out the afr's, and also iirc will be able to retard and advance ignition timing better.

mocky reckons he can give me 10kws on my stock au 4lt, with just a flash tune. ive already got the tuner bought 2nd hand from a fordmods member. cost 80 bucks to get it unlocked, and will cost 500 at jmm for a dyno tune.

so 600 for the flash tuner and dyno time is good. very good. just make sure he is actually selling you the flash tuner box and not just flashing it for you.

the box is about 8cm x 12 cm and about 6cm deep, has a few led lights on it and the capa logo on top. comes with a cable.

*edit*

just saw yours is an EF... flash tuner boxes only work on AU and later. e series cars need a chip. get more info off him.

Thanx for the help mate.

I just got an email from brenden mock he built the motors in my last 2 falcons and he suggested the following for this one.........

"A good upgrade is AU Heads and manifold with the Au MAF housing and a retune with a capa eliminator chip. Genie make good headers for your car
and the exhaust is up to you, just put on some good 2.5” cats. Other than that you get a set of the alloy heads from Sydney speed supplies they are good and very cheap, put the au manifold and let loose."

so i guess im shopping for an AU manifold and MAF
