my EL takes awhile to start, if I wait till fuel pump stops then crank it starts immediately.
Whats the problem? |

clogged filter or ECU might take a split second to get the relay to activate.
go the filter first

I typically wait for the pump to stop priming before starting up, are you not meant to, or does it not matter?

i some time have issues starting the car. I used to just jump in and flick the key but i would have issues like the starter motor will spin but would not touch the flywheel or it would crank and crank for a few seconds till it started.
You are not supposed to touch the accelerator when starting a EFI but before i turn the key i open the throttle body and clost it twice and it starts like a treat.
