you guys are making me feel better about my economy, i have got a best of 465 k's from a tank around town in my usual manner, the best on the highway was about 570 k's. my average is around the 430-450 mark with a bit of both.

oh yeah its an EB xr8 auto with au manifold tb and maf and 24 pound injectors and 1.72 roller rockers, and ask the sydney guys if it ever gets given a hard time, lol

I managed 650km from a 58litre going to melb late last year in my XH XR6 ute 5spd. And still manage 450-500 with Car trailer(450kg) and Gemini in tow(1100kg) and cruise at 110km/h on the freeway.

The olde girl even managed to over take cars and trucks up hills(mt ousley managed to stay in 3rd and do 95km/h all the way over taking every thing....)

I always get at least 550km/tank in my ED XR6 (city driving, driving moderate to hard), which lasts 6-7 days if I'm lucky.
Still costs $70 to fill up though! My *cough* Barina *cough* was $35 to fill up, and a tank would last 11 days (same amount of driving I do now).

I've seen your car and am not surprised. Can you get a larger fuel tank put in or is that not worth worrying about?

Ride: EF Falcon XR6

I manage to get 750Kms on my trip from sydney to thredbo. That was bone dry after though. In the city and with a heavy foot i only get about 350km and city and nice driving about 450km max.

EF Falcon XR6 manual, pacemaker headers, 2.5 inch exhaust, K&N air filter, cold air induction (home made), DBA slotted brakes, King Springs Super Lows, Heavy Duty clutch (brand new), lightened flywheel, thats all i think.

My average economy around town in the XR6 is about 12L/100
on the open road sitting on about 117 it goes up to 8.3L/100
whereas...
My mighty XF ute gets 23.6L/100 no matter if you thrash the ring out of it or drive it like miss daisy. Its amazing, no matter how you drive it, fuel economy is still sh*thouse.

My XF GHIA, when I had it got 500 - 550 Ks around town but I also think it had a big tank.

My XR8 gets around 430 - 450 around town.
It has also done around 750 Ks from Canberra - Melbourne on one tank.

Nope, it's the only car I have. So I get upset with $1.15 per litre!
