Just installed a fuel pump and then a fuel filter on my EF wagon and the fuel filter leaks. I pulled it off and put it back on and then it leaked less but still leaks. It is a valvoline filter have I missed something or doing something wrong? In the box it came in there is a little sealed packet with 2 rubber type washers and 2 brass or copper washer things. I assumed these where if you drilled the rivets out for the fuel filter mount.
Any suggests or advice would to great. |

I use the RYCO fuel filters...and havent had a problem.. most common problem if they leak is they havent been done up tight enough..you have tightened it enough?

cruiser i had the same problem. when i put it in. same brand too. at first i took the old one out and there was no seal so i thought do i need it? i said f**k it and just chucked the new one in. loaded the fuel line and it was leaking. shoved the black rubber seal into each end and put it back in and it hasnt leaked.....so put the rubber thing in. btw did u get a copper ring in the pack too?

yer got the copper rings aswell. They have a larger inside diameter than the rubber ones. I will chuck them in and see how it goes.
Thanks for that |

Thats pretty crap isn't it. I only use ford or ryco and haven't had any problems with them.

Well I put the rubber washer inside even thought the inside diameter was smaller as I figured that it may stretch as the metal fuel line goes on to it. Seems to be not leaking for now. Fingers crossed. Thanks phongus

yep the stainless is more prone to leaking due to harder material and the the taper dosent bite in that much, beter off with aluminuum.

buh....ill change it when it gets blocked again.
=D so far its working well....and i think too well because there is a higher flow and my injectors, fuel regs and return line are probably stuffed.
