wat are the consequences of driving my car without a Fuel Filter for a short period of time? as i need the car to get around, just for a quick fix for a small amount of time before the stuff that i need to fix it comes in? Please write back ASAP.

the bit that screws into the filter is f**k and i need that part of the fuel line but i also need my car, so can i run it without a filter for a short while?

i dont know yet, why? some kind of pipe, done up tightly at both ends.

;-/ um like running with out a fuel filter there should not be a problem but like if you happen to get some bad fuel etc it will run dodgey but i should see the problem but if just get some hose for example fuel line from a bulk type of thing should be acceptable.

so i coulndt run like some rubber hose for inatance? it is only a short distance?

as long as anything that goes into your petrol tank is combustable, you should be right, for short distance, eg: if a small leaf got thru, it would burn up and become exhausted decreasing performace for a moment yet causing no harm as apposed to say iron filings getting in there.

okh then, would zip lock ties do the job? provided i put the hose over the fuel line and tie it up?

lol - it doesnt matter how combustible it is, any particles are going to block the injectors. And as far as running without a fuel filter - bad idea IMO. There is some serious pressure in those fuel lines and there is a good chance that any temporary patch will come off and dump your fuel tank under your car.

so even if i got proper hose clamps and did them up hell tight it would come off?
