Hey all. I will be changing the fuel filter(s)?? on my ef falcon but first i nedda knoe where they are. I hered that one was somewhere near the passenger side front wheel arch?? is this true and what is involved on replacing this? Also is there another one close to the fuel tank and is this one different from the front one and is it harder to replace. Please be as detailed as possible

There is only one filter to replace, and its under the car ont he passengers side near the passengers rear door.
Just undo the lines on each side and pop it out. If your car is lowered you'll need to jack it up. Enjoy splashing fuel in your face

Its one of the lowest points in the fuel system, theres not much you can do to avoid it.. just get out of the way when you crack the lines off and let it finish draining out

Hmm... my advisors tell me best practise is to relieve pressure from the fuel system.
If you can, let it sit overnight and there wont be any pressure in the line. Alternatively, disconnect the fuel pump, start the car and wait for it to stall. The fuel lines are now empty.

Hey i was just about to start the same thread lol. I just purchased a Ryco fuel filter for $18. BUT ive flipped thru the manual and it does say that you should disconnect a fuel relay or something.. So that it relieves the pressure in the fuel lines etc...
Does it really matter that much?

Does it really matter that much? Yeah you unplug the relay and let the car idle until it stops, drains/relieves pressure from the fuel line. Or just pull the wiring plug from the top of the fuel pump. As noted by these guys, not necessary... consider it an optional step

So its not going to siphon out from the fuel tank. Isnt where it connects to the fuel filter lower than the fuel tank???
