Hi. I'm about to fit a full sick auto meter dash (speedo, tacho fuel level gauge etc). My question is this. Does anyone know the full and empty resistance readings of an ed fuel level sender. I need this info so I get the correct gauge.

EB II and ED are 12 Ohms for empty, 149 Ohms for full (2 - 176 full scale).
EA and EB series 1 are 2.3 Ohms for Empty and 200.7 Ohms for full. It should be a simple hookup as there is only one wire that goes from the instrument panel to the sender.

Thats some handy info there. Where'd you gget this? My gauge keeps shorting out, but im yet to figure out if its my sender or the dash itself. Ill have to go have a look. Thanks!

I got this out of the Ford Service Manual for EA, EB and ED. It's about time I used it again as I haven't owned one of them for years.
I'd like to buy the EF Factory Service Manual but it appears the Fordmods Shop is no longer. Ford want too much for it.

Andrew, you don't want my copy. It has got a bit mangled over the years and there are two chapters mising (can't remember which ones cos I haven't needed then) because my dog ate em (I kid you not).
I am buying the EF/EL one of Waggin. Bloody handy and the money they will save you makes it pay for itself quickly.

Would be good if i could get myself motivated to buy one. Might seeif I can repair my power steering rack rather than pay Ford $503.00. And thats reconditioned, not new, unfitted, and no wheel alignment included. Pretty rough if you ask me
