Hopefully some one has had this problem and can help. I have just had the camshaft, timing chain and lifters and bridges and other associated work done on my xf falcon but for some reason the car will not start on the first turn of the key.The mechanic reckons it is not getting enough fuel.Whilst driving, normally, there is not a problem, when you give it some stick-it goes then hesitates like it is going to slow right down, then as you keep pressing the accelarator it picks up and goes.It is not smooth, it doesnt just go through the gears, reving until you change gears all the way through.Could it be the fuel pump not delivering enough fuel, if so why has this only just started, why is it that i need to turn the key twice every time to start the car.?HELP. PLEASE.I really thought i would be driving a really sweet car now not looking at more problems.

I just had a look at the receipt and there is no fuel filter been changed, so i will go with that. I just remembered that the told me he had to replace a fuse for the sending unit for the fuel pump. Never had a problem in 12 years.?

That sounds like my car right before the fuel pump died.. Is the fuel pump making any funny noises?

Cheers

Ill answer the fuel pump first, the k-mart mechanic told me thought it was being "overworked"

Now i have not been on here a while and that is because i went and bought some spark plugs. I have all ways replaced my spark plugs and leads on all 3 cars and my work van. 5 OF THE SIX SPARK PLUGS WERE TIGHT AS H ..L TO GET OUT AND THE ENAMEL WAS BROKEN, the centre metal bit is twisted 2 of the threads in the head were CROSSED.I have video taped me taking no 3 out and have taken a couple of shots of the spark plugs together broken. And yes the car does start 1 st pop now. There is a slight miss whilst accelerating but it is a hell of a lot better. I am flabbergasted, i can not believe a mechanic has done this.

It looks like a no win situation i rang them up and told them that i found that the six spark plugs were the problem and i would like him to fix the problem. His reply was we didn,t touch or replace the spark plug.
