G'day
I have a little issue that i want to sort out before i go and convert the carby to efi in the xf. What pumps to use? The standard wagon pumps are an out of tank low pressure pump feeding an out of tank high pressure pump. My idea was to use a low pressure pump to feed a catch can, the catch can to feed the high pressure pump, that pump feeds the fuel rail and then returns to the main tank. Should i stick with the standard xf pumps (new) or go aftermarket? If after market which brand? Cheers

iv never had ne trubble with the standard XF / ZL fuel pumps.. tho, it does depend how much power you want to make out of it too.. if its jst gunna stay pretty much standard, then the standard fuel pumps should suffice....?

as the above, decide what power you want. And are you sure that the XF wagons didn't have a low pressure intank pump?
The Walbro brand come in 190L/hr, and 255L/hr. Id go with the XF EFI system, but replace the pump with something a bit bigger personally. You'll also need a plate fabricated to cover where the old mechanical fuel pump used to be. Cheers

Thanks
i'm looking to try and get about 150rwkw out of it. The car that i got all the efi bits from had 2 out of tank pumps. Is there any reason i cant just leave the pump there with nothing going through it? This will only be until i change the blocks over. How much do the walbro pumps go for? Cheers

hmm. I think the 255L/hr are around the $160 mark.
What do you mean by leave the pump there with nothing going through it? if its inline, it will have stuff going through it, and will be quite a restriction if left there not turned on. I would personally recommend an intank pump. Much easier and simpler. These walbro's are intank by the way. I think the XG's had intank pumps, and should be a swap over with the XF fuel tank if I can remember correctly. Cheers

The pump on the side of the block wont be inline! I'm running new lines from the tank to the engine bay as the ones that are there currently have been damaged.
Cheers
