Hi there.

I have a fuel smell that comes into the cabin off my ED I6 fairmont.
There is no fuel leaks in the engine bay or at the tank.

I have been told either I have a faulty fuel pump reg(if so,what is the proper way to replace this?) or the charcol canistor is buggered(if so,can I use one from a EF/EL? and where are they located?

Many thanks in advance.

I had this problem when using 10% ethanol fuel in my EF... sounds strange i know, but i went back to regular unleaded and the smell went away...

Issue was caused by the charcol canistor containing fuel-

How did this happen? By over filling the tank..Not by me but say previous owner and on more than one occasion. You have to replace it-don't try to drain and reuse as it doesn't work..And EA-ED are the same design but are different shape in the EF/EL.Not sure for AU ect..Genuine part only too...
