Hey guys
As the topic suggests my petrol gauge in my AU is always on full. Any ideas? |

does the needle go down when the ignition is off? if it doesn't, it is the needle stuck. if it does, it sounds like the sender is stuffed

Try disconnecting your sender wires down at the tank first. Key on and check the gauge...wait awhile because the gauge won't respond instantly. Also try shorting the two wires together with the key on to see if the gauge starts dropping.
The sender resistance range is 10ohms empty and 149ohms full with the upper stop measuring 176ohms. Measure across the pins at the tank connector to see if it's stuck on full before you remove the sender. The sender is part of the fuel pump assembly so you'll need to undo the plastic retainer nut on top of the tank to remove it. Pete. |
