2 people.. 2 different opionions...
im going to be the bigger man and admit there is no clear cut advantage in going either way.. personally i prefer the man ecu but if u wouldn bother GOOD ON YA THEN!!! thats your opinion...

Seems thats theres mixed views though in the last few posts...
prob for real although could be G UPS to keep the posts interesting!...

ps.99.9% my car is street driven and the 5spd conversion and all the parts for the conversion are being used as inteneded.... forgot to mention that...

*and as for sand in my vagina... you can clean it out if you like cos then you might get some!!! :lol: NAH sorry didnt mean that, just couldnt help replying back to snap you...

Why back out of the question?

According to your statement, my car should fail in some manner, due to me choosing to alter the inputs to an auto ECU rather than put a manual ECU in place.

WHEN will my car, and hundreds of other peoples cars fail? Why do you even bother with speaking tripe when hundreds of others have proven you wrong over the years?

I have dyno and road evidence that an XR manual ECU makes near enough to ZERO difference compared to a stock EL auto ECU.

Did you remove the auto wiring loom and replace it with a manual wiring loom? If you didn't, your car will die soon. It just will, dont ask how or why, because you didn't do the job properly.

falconea - i'm happy to agree to disagree if he thinks i didn't do it properly.

What I wont disagree on is uneducated comments that some failure will occur due to myself and hundreds of others doing a manual conversion the smart way which works properly and saves money, rather than his definition of the "proper" way.

Going by his definition, we should do no mods at all because we are changing from the original. So if u want the job done properly sell ur car and buy one with the parts fitted as original

I'm going to learn one day that arguing with someone wrong who thinks they're right not only brings you down to their level but they can beat you with experience.

I wont assume most people will understand logic. After all, if you "assume", it makes an "a**" out of "u".

I have done my fair share too, I just meant that by doing a mod unless its done to the letter , it would be considered not too be done correctly.


Anyhow this could go on for years and I dont have that many left, so I will stop watching this topic.

im tired of this thread now....
im now going to stop posting so as to keep you on a level higher than us people lower than yourself...

weve argued back and forward for what seems forever now...
however i still believe in the man ecu..
if you believe that by moddifying the auto ecu to thinking its a manual-
good for you... do your solder job.. save some money...

i dont feel any regret in usig my man ecu...
was never for a kw gain as you mentioned earlier...

anyhow.. just another post towards my post count... :wink:

im using a EL Stocko auto ECU with resitors, ... Tried the XR6 Maunal ECU, No difference .

Only thing is the EL XR6 ECU is better for is swaping cams .

Funny enough, using an auto computer has worked for the people that either know what they are doing, or have listened to someone who has experience in doing the modifications to run an auto computer in a manual equipped car (look at troy's thread for example)

The people that dont know how to read a wiring diagram for s**t, and rely on the forums for all their information, and follow other peoples bad / wrong / dodgey suggestions, are the ones that always end up with problems, and are the first to argue the point that - nah it doesnt work, it wont work s**t s**t.
If they took the time to read / learn and work out what it all does, then maybe it would work for them too.

ps - i dont need to increase my post count, so dont bother posting more argumentative s**t.

I run tricked Tickford LPG ECU's on my cars, mainly for the LPG spark maps (performance and fuel consumption improvements are noticeable). They are auto only, so no choice there.
They run fine for me, no evidence of rev flaring, high idles, etc.

In Our case there is no Manual example of a dual fuel ECU so I am keeping my Auto one and using the resistors to sort out the ECU.
