ok, so i've just finished the install of the EL ECU to complete my BBM conversion. It starts and runs, but gets to about 2500rpm and feels like its got a flat spot :? .... I havent yet installed the knock sensor, will that be causing this to happen???

thanks in advance

Are you running thermo's? Is so EF/EL fans? and how did you setup the relays so they work off the El ECU.

Cheers

Have you got the vacuum BBM switch hooked up properly? (That is behind the washer bottle). If you do have it there and you think it is all working sweet (you will have to run the wires from the computer to that module and connect a vac line input and output to it from the intake). To test that the BBM is working correctly get someone to start the car for you. Stand in front of the car and as soon as the car gets vacuum the BBM throttlebodies should open. then rev the car and watch that the module changes above 3 grand.

I have all the vacuum lines for the BBM switch hooked up (as per the EL removed it from)I have run the trigger wires from the ECU connected.. The butterflys close on engine running (idle) to allow for the air to flow through the longer path..
just checked that the butterflys open above 3800rpm (as per EL Factory workshop manuel) and they do!! :D

been playin with the timing again, can't seem to get rid of the popping!! but now have a fairly good idea what it is, as I give it a rev I have only just noticed that there is a s**t load of black smoke coming from the exhaust, any ideas on what this could be?? it did not do it with the original ECU...

i thought they were all the same.. fairly sure they are EL injectors anyway as i didn't change em over when i fitted the manifould...

according to the bosch parts application list thay are all the same EA-EL..

check it here>>> http://apps.bosch.com.au/products/saa/e ... ations.pdf page 71
