Could be the coil on the way out.
Sometimes they show signs of dying. You might want to buy one just incase. With a dead coil you'd be looking at a tow anywhere, which may be expensive.
Check the plugs: Discolouration, gap, age.
Then check the leads by arcing against the block. Blue colour spark is what you want to see. If its orange or yellow it could be down on spark, which may point to leads.
How long has it been since the rotor and dizzy cap were checked/replaced?
It could even be a fuel pump on its way out as well.
Does it blow smoke when it does this?
