Ok, first up, you can still get a spark from plastic, rub your feet on the carpet and put ur arm next to the frame of your LED TV and watch the hairs, it will create a spark. So, screwdriver will do the same possibly. Next up, have you ever tried to stick a screwdriver through one of those tanks? They are designed to stay in one piece in an accident and are about 8-10mm thick. Maybe a cordless drill will do the job. But then theres sparks...
But either way hotshots, the liquid doesnt burn, the vapour does, and 9/10 the vapour is on top... Either siphon the fuel or pump the fuel. Ignore the f**k who have no clue. A Darwin Award is waiting for them, dont join the queue to get one for yourself, they are awarded posthumously. |

When I wanted to get the fuel from my ef (out of rego) into my new xr6 I took the pump out got the battery and pumped the fuel out I parked my xr6 next to it and pumped it straight into it, worked easy and didn't take long , and I didn't blow the car up lol

I've used various methods to use the pump to pump it out, and I've also used a trolley jack underneath a screwdriver to punch the tank, hammer is too hard.

With all these cars going to the wreckers with holes in their tanks, I hope you guys don't need a secondhand tank in the future.

Hey, I noticed the little metal flappy trap door in the fuel tank is missing. If my black fuel cap works does it matter it's gone or is it letting fuel vapour escape and making fuel stale ???
Also tried to siphon the fuel out to put new stuff in and the hose seems to go in 20 cm then stops and kinks. Is there an anti-siphon thing in the filler tube ??? |
