hi
i want to run diagnostic on a el ecu that i have fitted to my ea ..
because when i put it into self test mode the idle goes up for about 5 seconds like it supose to but after that the idle goes up and down and i cant set the base timing ..when i use the timing light
the timing mark will go crazy and you cant get it to stop untill i hold the revs on for about 5 seconds and the timing reads tdc rev it again and it goes to 10 deg and starts going crazy again..

but when its not in self test mode the car runs smooth..

so i tried to conect a test light to the black plug next to the self test plug in the engine bay but nothing happens???

am i doing something wrong???

I think you'd need the EL loom wouldnt ya? Dont the EBII onwards models have the J port for the self test?
