Today was driving along and the car decided to shut off and not start up again, so the NRMA was called and we came to a conclusion that the fuel pump had had it. So NRMA towed the car the the nearest work shop seeing it wasnt going anywhere on its own.
My question is, if the car when it this afternoon, will it be ready for wednesday morning. I'll ring up the mechanic when he open tommorow, however just wonder is it a big job? Thanks

I can cahnge the pump in 15-20mins, a mechanic should be faster.

So it's a peice of [piss to change is it? the one in my wagons shot, makea winey noise when on petrol, and if i try driving on petrol car stalls, but it's fine to start up the car and then switch to gas (i'm dreading the day i go to start the car and the pumps absolutely shot). i've been delaying replacing it as i havn't had time, but if it' pretty easy i'll get another from work and do it sometime soon. |

Problem with the pump in the wagon is it goes into the side of the tank, therefore the tank must be drained first. Left hand rear wheel then removed. After that its easy.
