Just out of curiosity I'd like to know how my kilometers people are getting out of a tank of fuel in their falcons?

I always use 98 octane fuel in my EL Futura and typically get around 600 - 650kms out of a tank of fuel (mixed highway and town driving), however Since I last filled up I seem to be getting pretty s**t fuel economy, I reset the trip meter when I last filled up and have done only 150km and somehow already gone through half a tank of fuel? I last filled up with BP ultimate 98 octane... has anyone ever had a problem with this fuel?

I would usually get 400-450km to a tank, but that is about 70% short trips to work, but when on long drives I still easily get over 150km per 1/4 tank.

edit: I try not to trust my fuel gauge anyway, once it said I had done 220km and still said 7/8 full.

the way i use to check my fuel usage is fill the tank to the top, reset the trip meter, wait until im almost out of petrol, refill back up to the top, and then work out how many litres it took to refill the tank and how many kms i had travelled, i usually get 350-450 with mixed conditions driving, i also drive hard most of the time anyway.

You don't want to know, lets just say a tune will improve what I currently get, some people refer to it as economy. not me, its fuel burn!

depends how hard you drive it as always... I can usually get 700km from a 70litre tank in the BF which weighs nearly 2tonne. 650kms from my au xr6 80litre tank, gets driven harder though but only weighs around 1400. Most I've had out of the ute on full fill is 695 and the BF was 720. The ute got better with the exhaust and manual conversoin, was doing alot worse before that, which leads me to think manual b series would be capable of doing better than 750...

yea it was, but not by much..
although the ecu had been tuned for power and not much time has been spent on the economy side of things..
plus the ems ecu closed loop function is a little primitive compared to most factory ecu's..
