Just take the lid off. You'll notice alot less drivers with plenty of empty space in a manual EB seriesII and up EEC.....no trans to drive y'see.
Your catch code is 2DAD which from memory is a manual EEC.
Any hoses fallen off the intake?
Do a self test.

Yep it's a 2DAD, everything looks like it's secured ot the bbm alright.
It idles fine without the ISC on, but when it's plugged in its really bad.

For the moment I'd love to know if the EL ISC is meant to let air through with no voltage going to it. It has a spring that seems to hold it open so I guess thats right?

So you running EL ICS? that maybe your problem they are different EB-ED put the EB one on see if that makes a difference and reset your base idle you shoudn't have to touch that ever.
