Alright so i dont know if anyone here actually works for ford? Im looking at doing an auto to manual conversion on my AU falcon, ive read through all the forums on it but cant find the info i need, i understand how to change it all, that i can either change the ecu to a manual one or just change to manual mode in mine, but i work for mazda and we use the same diagnostics tool as fords and i was wondering if its possible to change it over to manual mode just using the normal ford diagnostics tool (IDS) and if so how do i do it (which menu on the IDS program etc.) Help would be much appreciated as ive been playing around with it at work but cant figure it on. cheers

im pretty sure you have to take it to ford and get the new ECU flashed to the car, otherwise it wont crank over, let alone start. can someone confirm this?

Do the resistor trick to shut off the fans. Bypass the nuetral switch so it starts. It will run fine. Mine has been converted for 4 months. Still running the auto ECU. |

Yeah i think ill just get the manual ecu and change it over myself and flash it to the new car coz i know how to do that with IDS, do u know how much ford charge to do it, if its not much ill just let them do it coz its not worth the hassle, but if it is then ill just do it myself

You can chip the original ECU to avoid having to re-code a new ECU to the BEM. You can also disable Smartshield for use in conversions etc.

See my website {DESCRIPTION} for one option - shoot me a PM or email if you have any questions. I have supplied many chips to suit EF-AU I6's and V8's in various cars.
