I have a 1997, DL Ford LTD, 5 Litre V8.
It's the version of the Windsor which has a distributor, not a coil pack! Could anybody please tell me if the EEC-V Engine Management system on this engine has an "Ignition Knock Sensor" or is ignition timing advance set solely by rotating the distrubutor? I run my car on 98 Octane Unleaded and am wanting to reap the full benefits of the better quality fuel! |

No knock sensor.
Rotating the dizzy will advance the base timing, the EEC will just add it's own ignition timing, according to the conditions, on top of that.
