While i know Haltech Used to make an ignition only ECU (IG5) they're proving impossible to find.
What other options do i have for tuning ignition timing on an EF with Coil packs, i don't need the fuel control since i'm using LPG.

Jaycar have a kit, i've bought one but haven't assembled it yet so can comment if its any good or easy to use. most of the other car stuff i've bought from there has been good though... cya Rene. |

They will hold 2 sets of ignition maps - switch selectable. I don't know what else to say. It will cost $500 to tune on a dyno including fitting. I picked up a second hand unit for less than $300.

You cant go much further than 200wkws with a chip in the EEC unfortunatly

Yeah i had a look at the megajolt a few weeks ago.
dont know if it could be implemented with the factory EF coil packs, i'll still have more of a look at it though. Chef: you can, just not fueling wise

Megasquirt has definate support for the ford EDIS system. But yeah.. look into it. Im building a megasquirt II myself, and I know it has EDIS support. Im just not using it (EBII).

ok, I read somewhere ages ago that the eec doesnt have the resolution to accuaratly redard on high boost... what can it support?

the megajolt (as per site) talks to the EDIS module, and thus tricks it to perform the required advance/retard operations, since the EEC V has that inbuild, i assume it would be more complicated?
has anyone research the megajolt for a EEC V and coil packs?
