Well, my old man had a "senior moment" :P.

He put like 40 dollars of petrol in his GQ by mistake and only realized when he put the bowser back. He didn't start the car so no risk of f**k his injector pump etc. But he has asked me to drop the fuel out onto the "ground" Seems like a waste of 40L of petrol.

Is it salvageable? Or is it just glorified lighter fulid :P

I am assuming 10 litres it was no more then 20, the Patrol was on a 1/4 prior to petrol fail and 3 1/4s full after petrol fail.

I think this also, maybe blow a bit of blackish smoke if used in another car or lawn mower etc.

GQ's have a 90L tank, so a 1/4 would be at least 20L.

Running a car on fuel with diesel in it will actually make it produce a lot of white smoke.
It wont hurt a carby car but could foul the plugs. I wouldnt run it in an injected system but.

yer i would say mower fuel to play it safe. however if you can contain in cleanly and let it sit for a while the diesel will seperate from the petrol and you will be able to salvage a fair amount of fuel.i would do this even if using for mower fuel. the rest is good parts cleaner/degreaser! always a use for it don't drop it. specially on the ground or at least don't publicise it lol
