Feel free to rip my unichip on the bathurst cruise, Also i have an EFII Fairmont Ghia V8 ECU with speed limiter and an EFII XR8 ecu non limited if you want to rip those. These are both for the Autobox, the V8's have a separate ecu for the Auto

Reading over my last post, my brain must've been fried after hours of code 'cracking'. Absolutely shocking grammer and spelling.

I'll be on the bathurst cruise so anyone willing to be dumped, I'll take any dumps I can. Although I'm concentrating on I6 Autos at this time, I'll move on to manuals and bent eights once I've got it cracked.

It's a simple process.

- Remove passenger side kick panel.
- unscrew ECU top, this will release top and bottom, and the little black plastic cover.
- Clean the 'goo' off the J3 connector using the black plastic (I've found this works great, and does no damage like a knife or sandpaper could).
- Hook up laptop via J3 adaptor.
- Dump.
- Put back together.
All in less than 15 minutes.

Just some advice there datamine,

Cleaning off the goo only, usually results in corrupt bin files.
If you can, scrape the contacts down almost to bare copper for a good contact.
I have a few EL bins if you'd like them(Including manual)?
Have you loaded the stock bin into the moates chip to see if it runs the car?

Cheers,
Pete.

I found that if you didn't clean the goo of properly you'd get a bin full of FF's. I think the plastic cover does a very good job of cleaning off the goo, as it's sharp enough but soft enough so it won't damage the board. Both original bins I've dumped load up fine on the chip and run.

I'd appreciate any extra bins you've got. I'll PM you my email.

Can we get a list of known EL 6cyl ECU codes and wether we have a dump of them or not? Will make the process easier.

I'll keep the first post updated. Hopefully Pete will come through with some more for me.

When you have a chip to convert a stock manual EL ecu to a XR6 manual ecu I'll be your first buyer :) or if you can remove my speed limiter that could work too.

I'll be at the 'Second Anual Sydney to Bathurst Cruise'

I'm eager to get some more dumps, so if you're willing to help, and have a few minutes to spare track me down (look for my car) and say hello.

Update.
Sorta stalled while I program a UI I'm happy with, of all the ECU editing software I've found, TunerPro is by far the best, but still is NOT all that helpful for 'ecu hacking' unknown ecus which of course it what I'm trying to do. So I'm busy writing an app with all the features I want (special ones like hex editor, table finding algorthms, graphing, and a few secrets).

You should consider offering manual XR6 ecu conversions now. I think you'll nail it with just that as an offering.

Hey mate hows progress?

I'm getting a spare ECU soon enough and if your interested I can send you my ED XR6 Manual one to dump.
I'm sure there would be heaps of people with EA-ED after XR maps...

Also do you think you'll be able to put manual maps onto Auto ECU's?

Cheers.
