Hey guys,

For anyone using mine or Jason's TI J3 chips with an Auto, I have updated EF Auto definition with transmission control.

Added
Shift scheduling
Torque converter Lock/unlock
Transmission Line pressure.

I will be updating the rest as time permits.

You can now do away you electronic shift kits based on resistors and do it properly with a lot more control over when the shift is firmed up.

Rename the attachment to .zip

nice work!

any idea if the unit uses a different strategy to control when the economy switch is off? (eg, WOT eco is normal & WOT pwr on is with higher line pressures?

Your question prompted me to look over the disassembly again, seems I missed it, there are 2 tables for the trans line pressure, one each for econ and power. The one in this definition is for Power mode. I will have to add the econ one.

Yes, will be doing EL next. It takes time to do it, the EF took me about 18hrs + testing. The rest of the definitions should only take about 4hrs each.

Keep an eye on this post.

all good, i didn't realise you and jason were working together.
very promising!
is it possible to work towards control over things such as full manual control of the gearbox through the J3?

Hey Andrew. I am currently using a T.I J3 and the old resistor trick shift kit and am very interested in having trans control added to mine. I dont have the cable or software so would need yourself or someone like cve?? to do it.

How much would this cost and how long would it take. Im located in cranbourne VIC.

Cheers

Andrew, myself, or any of the tuners (inc CVE) can retune an EF with the trans maps - the defs are on my site.

Cheers,
Jason

@izedso, Im close to you being in Langwarrin, I will let you know when I have a clear schedule.

@misk_one, I have not tried it yet, but full manual control may be doable by zeroing the upshift functions and maxing out the down shift functions, it should then do whatever gear the selector is in. Something I will try soon.

We can also turn the transmission off, making it stuck in 3rd, which is good for dyno tuning.

It's written above! EL isn't ready just yet though.

Thanks. I will wait till you get the program written for the EL.
I purchased one and will get it re-tuned once the guys at TI have it all sorted.
