hey guys, was hoping someone could help out with a recent prob in my gas sys. Just lately my car has the annoying habit of backfiring on gas SOMETIMES when i put my foot down. Any ideas?? Could it be that the selonid in the converter is playing up so an incorrect mix ratio???
Any help please.... |

i hope when ur starting the car u dont put the foot down to hard to the point of doing wat stupid sales people did at work a week ago, for about ten mins they were trying to start this aftermarket gas system that was fitted onto a jeep and as soon as the guys went away for a bit, different guy starts the car starts reving it for a bit then bang the air box blew, and the jeep was pretty much a delivery for that day i think.

I assume that you still have not replaced the stepper motor. If so your workaround you replaced it with could be adjusted too lean.
Any help please....

nah not the plugs or leads as i just changed em last service...infact the prob only started once i did change em
the old plugs looked rooted, they had a white/grey carbon residue on them and were worn----not sure of the source. thought the prob was that the engine running rich as im not get'n as many kms as i use too but my mates recon it s the age of hte car Any ideas how i can pinpoint the source? cheers guys |

i think u answered your own question
"infact the prob only started once i did change em " did u gap plugs to lpg spec just cause they are new plugs / leads dont mean they are OK thats why u get a warranty check em anyway |
