My car really stinks of gas when I start it up.

The smell definitely seems to come from the engine bay - only in cold weather too.

Once th car has warmed up it doesn't smell.

I think I must have a leak - or is it a normal thing.

I figure there should not be any gas smell unless there is a leak.

I get 450kms to 65 litres - which I think is bloody good - so if there is a leak, it can't be much, but gas stinks so it doesn't take much to smell it.

Any ideas?

And I cringe every time somebody in a car in front of me chucks out their cigarette butt and I see it bouncing along the road under my car - just in case.....
