Hey Guys!
After my AU ECU standalone setup didn't work I reverted back to using a dissy in my AU engine. However, I really want to run coil packs and seeing the Australian dollar is good I decided to get myself a Megasquirt kit and an EDIS6 module from the states! All up including postage Your looking at just over $300 for a V2 PCB3 kit and EDIS6 Module. It'll be a steep learning curve! But hopefully I'll be able to get the most out of my new motor! Stay tuned!

Take a look at the extra code, the most recent beta is 2.1.1 this allows you to run 3x coil ignitors straight from the msII to run the coils eliminating the need for EDIS.
Also allows closed loop idle control and the extra code gives you a LOT more features, some that are only found on high end ecu's |

Yeah I have been reading through the mega manual about idle control, I'm having the usual big cam flearing problem atm. I'll look into the coil ignitors though!
Did you get my PM?

PID closed loop idle control with the MS2/e code works well, but it takes some time to get it tweaked right.
I didnt get any pm from you though |

always wanted to run this system....now that edis is gone that makes things a bit easier...the thing holding me back is the vast amount of research required such as versions, hardware etc...
so u have an EL or ED or something that didnt come coilpacked? what was the issue with running the AU setup? why do u think it would better to run megasquirt over an EF or EL J3 eec5?

if its auto, use the ms2 to do fuel and spark, and keep the factory ecu to run the auto.
The MS2 has more bins than EEC4/EEC5, giving greater tunability |

Your going to have a lot of fun with the squirt, that's for sure!
I'm building one to run my mighty boy, with a mix & match of some bits to convert it to EFI & electronic ignition at the same time. I'm so sick of carbies & points! I've got the ECU built, need to work out my wiring loom & build that next. Cheers ToranaGuy

Not assembled i don't, but maybe soon i'll have time to take a couple of pics. Been busy working hard on other projects, like getting the engine in the mighty boy rebuilt so i can drive the car, currently running it in on the stock carby, hope to convert it sometime this summer. Cheers ToranaGuy

Good luck with the install.
Getting one of these up and running is great for testing your patience! |
