I have wired in a couple on Rotaries but have not tuned one. They only have about 30 wires of which you can leave out 1/2 of them if you wanted too. Very easy to install and from what I have seen, to tune.
The only problem I know of is when a rotary is slowly rolled into boost it has a rich hiccup. When acclerating into boost the hiccup is not apparent. There seems to be a problem in the software/hardware where it transitions into boost. Although how many people do you know sit there slowly accelerating into boost?? The Microtech is primarily designed for Rotaries and racing. You get what you pay for, don't expect brilliant resolution (if you need it), sophisticated cold start or closed loop operation. The air and water temp correction is supposed to be a bit below average, this can be turned on or off. |

As per my sticky have a look at a wolf 3D for a cheap option around the $1100 mark or spend about $1600 on a haltech if you want a good replacement ecu with lots of resolution etc, closed loop, idle control etc. Tuning on both will be extra remember.
Personally I would go the haltech, it looks so much easier to use for only $500 more. You can always take them out and transfer them to your next car.
