Hey, deciding to go to an aftermarket ECU (megasquirt) but need to retain the stock ecu in my AUII falcon to operate the auto box. Can anyone tell me if i'll have any issues simply disconnecting injector and spark plug outputs, and also what do I need to leave connected to ensure the ecu will still control the box reliably and not enter LHM.

Thanks, Thomas.

You will have no issues disconnecting the Injectors or Spark Outputs,

Assuming you are using a ms1 or 2,

Splice into a Power that is 12v ignition on (AND 12v CRANKING)
Run 2 banks of 3 - or 3 banks of 2 injectors.
02 sensor (just get a wide-band - LC1 is around ~$220 best money will spend for tuning you car)
Share the TPS signal
Share the Air Temp
I would put in a E series Thermostat housing so you can use a separate water temp sensor. (as i am pretty sure it can not be shared - AU runs a T-MAP)
Fuel Pump - Leave the stock ECU to control
Idle Speed Control - leave the stock ecu to control this until you get your tune sorted - if it idles crap and stalls when load is applied then look into controlling this using the MS
Obviously run a vacuum line to internal MS MAP sensor

Remember to run all your earth to a good ground, dont just use the earth screw that holds the stock ecu in place. Best to go to a good engine ground.

How are you controlling the Coil Packs ?
EDIS module ?
Adding Extra Spark Outputs ?

Hey, i'm going to be using a megasquirt 3 as my car is currently mixer gas and once I get the megasquirt working on petrol i'll change it over to sequential injected gas using the dual fuel/dual table option. The coil packs will be run off the MS3X outputs (although I will be DIYing the output as the MS3X board doesn't do peak and hold for the injectors, so I need to make my own board for this anyway)

Thanks, Thomas.

Does the ms3x have built in ignitors on each spark output ?

No, its logic level output. I won't be using the MS3X though as I need to run LPG (low-z) injectors - the MS3X is for high z only.

Thanks, Thomas.

Yes, I plan to run the stock missing tooth crank and cam sensor.
