I've had a before dyno.. it was running so rich that the Wideband AFR meter was reading lean :D 109RWKW. LOL

I think that night on the news they reported heavy pollution in SW Sydney. hehehe

Thanks to all for the encouraging posts.. time for a bit of an update on Friday's events.

Arrived at Fordmods HQ at around 2pm (yep, about 4 hours late) with MoTeC, Wiring Loom and Laptop in hand.. ready for business!

After an hour of f@rt about, the first wires on the existing loom were snipped, and we were underway.

The following things have been connected, calibrated, tested and confirmed A-OK

Power (woo!)
Throttle Position Sensor
Injectors (Sequential!)
Fuel Pump relay
Crank Ref
Cam Ref/Sync

Connected, but unsure of functionality
MAP Sensor
Air Intake Temp

Still To Do
Coil Pack and Igniters
Engine Coolant Temp
Idle Speed Controller
Thermo Fans
A/C Clutch Request
Pwr Steer Full Lock
Knock Sensor

I'm happy with what was completed today.. quite a breakthrough, considering its something i've been talking about doing for a while. lol. Hopefully she'll be firing by the end of Sunday, which will leave us with Monday to sort out any bugs and try and get a base spark and fuel map so the car is drivable.

Having a near flat battery and 0KM to Empty flashing on the Trip Computer makes life interesting... sort that out later.

Whats it all costing? Nothing. Bought the M800 about 6 months ago, and bought the looms 2 months ago... its just blood, sweat and tears remaining. Would really help if I had a workshop manual to reference schematics from... had to hand my borrowed EF manual back.. anyone offering a loan for the weekend? :D

Thanks to Dave (as usual) who was lending a hand.. and the rest of the wonderful team at Fordmods HQ :P

Sleep time..

LOL.. well Saturday's effort was pretty slack.. I think I rocked up to Fordmods HQ around 4.30pm.. so much for aiming to get there before midday :D

Today we figured that the Ford MAP sensor isnt compatible with the MoTeC, as the MoTeC only accepts voltage signal MAP sensors, and the Ford MAP sensor uses a frequency signal.. so at atmospheric pressure, the MAP reading was jumping from 30-100kpa 20 times a second.. strange! Looks like we'll be using a MAP sensor from (wait for it...) a VN Commodore :) Lets hope the wreckers are open Sunday!

Sorted out the igniters for the coilpack. Since the MoTeC doesnt have inbuilt igniters like the EEC-V does, we needed to source something to fill the shoes of the EEC-V's inbuilt EDIS system. Thankfully thanks to an inside tip from an engineer at MoTeC, I managed to pick up 3 Bosch J121 Ignition Modules.. commonly found in 90's models V6 Magnas.. got 3 for $30.. cant complain. Better than the 3 channel Bosch igniter from MoTeC for $400+

Anyway.. thats all we really got thru today.. fingers crossed we'll have a MAP sensor, some spark and we'll be off (after we find a battery with charge, and get some fuel in the tank)

More updates coming soon!

About that Trip Computer/0Km to empty : You should be able to use an EB/D trip computer or internals shouldnt you? - they dont use the Data Line for info they read the fuel tank, and injector pulse-width directly. Would be a reasonable work-around if you could make it all fit in.
