i purchased one form MSY couple of month ago for my MS1 project, never got it to work. tried all com port selections. read through MS forums no help

my solution was to buy a old Laptop, celeron 300 with win98 - $30 - works fine with just Mega tune on it :D

well i did the same but thru process of elimination got it to work on 2 different adaptors. it was simply the mtcommon file in the megasquirt folder- it's only a simple notepad file, but it MUST read exactly:

[MegaTune]
MTversion = 2.25

[Constants]
writeBlocks = off ; Default is on.
interWriteDelay = 1 ; "interCommandDelay" if writeBlocks is "on".

also you need to go into control panel- system- hardware- device manager- ports---------- and change the baud rate to 115200 (for ms2) and 9600 (for ms1). then go into advanced options and change the buffer rate to LOW. 1 is the lowest i could get and it works fine.

hope this helps

scott

I use one called USB to serial(db9) cable. Ever now and again it drops out but usually ok.
