Your not going to use a resistor to make the engine think its doing less revs : resistors only work on analog signals, and RMP is digital.

you cant put a resistor in to make it think its revving less

also it relys on getting an accurate rpm signal (PIP) to work out how much fuel to inject/how much advance.

so no, no resistors people. even if u get it to rev past its redline do you think ford have their maps setup to go past the redline? i dont..

Still fearly standard, 40 thou over pistons (5 cc dish) mild cam, small amount of porting, shaved head. Valve a nd springs to come at later stage

Does an EBXR6 manual ECU have a rev limiter?
I have been told they were limit free, both speed and revs, is this wrong?

EB XR6 has a rev limit at 5500rpm. Doesn't have a speed limiter though.

EB XR6 has a rev limit at 5500rpm. Doesn't have a speed limiter though.


I found that my EBII fairmont stock ecu didnt have a speed limiter also

you dont need more revs

try changing diff ratio if you find the gearing is not suitable

IT currently runing 2.27diff ratio and still hiting rev limiter half way up straight . Put bigger wheels on but was slow of the mark and s**t through traffic . And still managed to hit rev limiter.

ok, so youve run out of gears on the straight and its bouncing off the rev limiter in top gear? is that right?

The first time I had an EB2 'Mont was on a trip to Darwin in June 1993 and definitely can say there was no speed limiter. LOL
It's whether there's a rev limiter on the EBXR6 ECU that I'm unsure about due to conflicting info. I suppose I'll have to fit mine into the ED manual and try it out , though I have no real need to rev the engine that high but curiosity...

We only run on a quarter mile oval so only run 2nd gear . Runing original eb 5 spd

works on pulse, not voltage

first you've got to figure out what is doing the limiting. if its spark, see if you can hook up a different system.

Well the only way i can see is to change diff gearing, yes i know youve tried and theres always a comprimise between acceleration and top end

Might be worth checking out if an XR6 ecu has a higher rev limit?
