change the dizzy back to an old CDI than the ECU has no control over it but youll have to set your timing the ECU won't be able to change that will the engine is running the way it does now

cant put an old school electronic in. the efi wont work the injectors wont fire etc. the ecu wont know what to do without the dizzy signal to run an old electronic dizzy you would have to convert to carby.

i have a 91 XR8 standed com. there is no rev limiter on it revs 6200 ok. Maybe early EB 6cyl might not have limiter.Don't really know always run 8cyl.

the EFI off a 4.1L had nothing to do with the dizzy and could easly be tweaked for higher performance by a simple resistor change in ECU & Fuel reg shut off. just like junking old twin throghts for a 350/500 holley.
