I drove up to Albury last weekend.

First, I filled up at Bunker Hill Shell with ULP. By the time I was cruising up the Hume Highway @ 110km/h, the trip computer range managed to climb up to 706km.

At one stage, combining the range and trip meter, I could cover a distance of 792kms on the highway.

Got home to Albury, distance covered so far was 270 kms. 10 kms was covered around town, seeing family and the odd errand or two.

Heading back to Melbourne, range started to go down, then back up again as soon I was on the Hume Highway.

Went to work monday morning. To work and back is 31 kms.

The trip meter had read a distance of 635.7kms since last resest. Range left on t/c was 93kms.

Fuel used to fill up the car again was 56.30 Ltrs. After discount of 4c/L, cost to fill was $60.35.

I did not use Citylink, I did have to stop at Fitzroy sunday afternoon and make my way back home down punt road.

Therefore on a good steady highway run, I was using 8.8 L/100 kms.

Yeah not bad. Driving from Port Augusta to Horsham, 730kms. Trip computer claimed I had another 140k's to go, gauge was still above 1/4. So if you can believe the trip computer I'd have got 870 out of a tank. :)

That sounds about right to me for a Falcon on the highway.

I've got over 800km out of a tank of mine, N/A.
My dad just averaged more than 700km's out of tank all the way to and from QLD last week, (EL Fairmont Ghia)

That is why I am not going to put LPG on my car. The fuel is the best.

my au3 dedicated gas, does 700 km around town per tank, works out to cost about $45 for 700km. petrol would be easy $100+.

go lpg.

Who the hell cares about fuel economy? If you and I cared about fuel economy, we'd buy Hyundai's!!!
We're interested in power, that's why we have Falcon's.

ha i get great economy.... ~24l/100km mostly country. that at top of list atm, thankfully its gas and doesnt cost an arm and a leg, just and arm.

In my fathers au ghia, we were playing with the trip meter thing and got it to read 2 litres/100km. lol. driving @ 40kph.

In my 6cyl fairlane I had 8.5L/100km all the way upto albury and all the way back, climate control on whole way also.. Seems normal for that type of car.

Not that I really care; as you can see I upgraded to FBT which gets around 9L/100km sydney to melb with climate control on.. not bad; just dont drive round town hehe
